New York (NY) - Beginning this November, Nielsen will track how many people are watching high-definition programming on their TV.
An estimated 28 million homes in the country have HDTV, but no one has tracked how many of them actually watch hi-def shows.
Nielsen also recently began tracking ratings for shows that are watched on a time delay via a digital video recorder, like TiVo.
The first HDTV Nielsen report will be published in January 2008.
