MIT researchers looking for ways to create a hive mind
Boston (MA) - MIT issued a press release yesterday calling for global man's collective input. It reads in part, "Imagine if the planet's collective brainpower and computing power could be brought together to tackle some of the world's toughest problems, including global climate change and cancer."
MIT proposes a technology aid which will link people together, sharing thoughts and ideas for the purposes of benefiting everybody and advancing mankind and science. They have created a Center for Collective Intelligence (CCI) which is working to make this dream a reality.
Their press release reads in part:
The CCI's goal is nothing less than figuring out "how can people and computers be connected so that collectively they act more intelligently than any person, group or computer has ever done before. That's a kind of intelligence that's never existed on the planet before."
