Wouldn’t it be wonderful if plants could talk? Caring for them would be so much simpler. This pot, we prefer to call it an iPot, makes plant care much easier, at least for those of us who have not the most talent keeping plants alive. For all others, this may be a rather annoying and useless gadget.
The Digital Pot created by Junyi Heo is designed to relay your plant’s individual needs utilizing an interactive display of simulated plant facial expressions. From what we could see, this product may be able to make a gardener out of even the most plan-challenged individual. I found the design intriguing and well, for lack of a better word – cute. I couldn’t resist finding out a bit more.
The Digital Pot is an amazing and innovative evolution in regards to plant technology. The pot itself is filled with moisture, temperature, and soil sensors that determine if you are properly meeting your plant’s basic needs. Even though a simple light would have effectively let you know what the plant needed, Junyi went a step further by adding an LCD screen displays the status of the plant through the use of different facial expressions.
Can you imagine how simple gardening would be if each and every plant came in a pot like this? Add this one to every Green Technology geek’s gadget list. The only hard thing is trying to purchase one. I have yet to be able to find these available for sale, or any information regarding when they’ll be released, or even if they already have. And no, there was no price available on this iPot.
