Virginia Beach (VA) – We all know weddings can be extremely expensive, but one Virginia Beach woman has come up with an innovative way to pay. 23-year-old Ms. Gray successfully auctioned off one of her bridesmaids spots on eBay. She says the $5700 winning bid will definitely help pay for the expected $7000 in wedding expenses (that sounds like a fairly inexpensive wedding by today’s standards). The unidentified winner will have to pay their own travel expenses to the April 2009 wedding location, but at least they can eat from the buffett.
Gray says people auction all types of wacky stuff on eBay and that it was her boss that actually came up with the eBay idea.
Why in the heck would you pay $5700 AND travel expenses to be the bridesmaid at a stranger's wedding?
