Never bring a stun gun to a gunfight...

Atlanta (GA) – An Atlanta man is lucky to be alive after he tried to stop a car thief with a stun gun and getting shot five times in the process.  According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the victim was driving a minivan when a carjacker got in the vehicle and demanded money.  The victim instead shot the guy with his two-pronged stun gun gun.

It’s not clear if the victim missed or if the darts had no effect, but we do know he was clearly outgunned because the robber returned fire.
Police are still looking for the car thief after he crashed the minivan and ran away.

A stun gun is usually a fairly effective weapon and leaves people flopping dramatically on the ground so it will be interesting to find out if the victim merely had a case of nerves and missed completely or if the thief was immune to the electricity.  As an example of stun guns, Taser is improving their designs and TG Daily was on hand to witness the company's new wireless electric bullets a few months ago.  You can read that article here.
