Acer will be first with Chrome OS netbook
Taiwanese manufacturer Acer looks like it will be first out of the starting gate with a netbook using Google's Chrome operating system.
According to Digitimes, the netbook will be released in the second half of next year, with preliminary design plans starting in the middle half of this year.
Acer is willing to experiment with different operating systems - it has already introduced a Google Android netbook, although that led to indifferent sales.
Earlier this week it was revealed that Dell also has plans to use the Chrome OS on some of its future products.
