AMD releases last non-quad-GPU driver package

  • AMD today released version 8.2 of its Catalyst graphics driver. The software leads up to the major 8.3 release in March, and includes minor patches for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, World of Warcraft, Doom 3 and TianXia2.

    AMD also claims that the driver accelerates DirectX 10 performance improves in Company of Heroes as much as 20% on the ATI Radeon HD 2000 and HD 3000 series of cards (up to 30% in Crossfire configurations).

    The driver can be downloaded from AMD’s website.

    Catalyst 8.3 is expected to include support for up to four GPUs.
