$250 Electronic paper watch launched

  • Hong Kong-based wrist watch maker Art Technology announced a new line of “luxury” watches using E Ink’s electronic paper technology. Offered from about $250, the new “Phosphor” product line integrates E Ink’s Vizplex electronic paper display, which is “made up of pure black and pure white particles”, as watch dials.

According to the manufacturer, the digital display “depicts digital time with the look of electronic paper and can be read accurately and instantly from any angle.” The customizable dial allows the owner to select among styles, from the precise detail of full numerals and indices to the simplicity of no markings at all, Art Technology said.
