Microsoft releases Windows Server 2008 RC1

  • Microsoft today made the first release candidate of Windows Server 2008 available for download. According to the company, the final version is scheduled for a release to manufacturing (RTM) on February 27, 2008, the launch date of the software. Microsoft said that 1.8 million users have obtained Windows Server 2008 “evaluation code” so far and “more than 140,000 IT professionals” already have been trained on the new software.   

    Windows Server 2008 will be launched at a February 27 event held by the company in Los Angeles.
