Verizon intros CDMA Blackberry Pearl
Verizon will beginning to sell Research in Motion’s Blackberry Pearl on November 3, marking the debut of the CDMA version of the smartphone. The phone will be offered for $300 (minus a $50 mail-in-rebate), which is the same price the device was offered when it was introduced by T-Mobile for GSM networks in September of last year. However, Verizon’s price represents a hefty premium of the GSM Pearl, which is currently selling for $200 (minus a $50 mail-in-rebate).
Verizon offers an “email and web” plan for $30 per month, in addition to regular coverage plans, which are available from $40 per month.
