Winamp turns 10
AOL has released a new version of Winamp, the audio player that was one of the major driving forces behind the adoption of the MP3 audio format in the second half of the 1990s. Version 5.5 celebrates the 10th birthday of the software and comes with a redesigned user interface and a few new features.
The se new features include a tool that is able to choose “similar” music tone specific track, remote access to media via game consoles, a media monitor that detects playable web content as well as a search feature “to explore articles, videos [and] find up-to-date concert information” about artists.
