Flash Lite adds support for Flash video

  • Adobe today announced Flash Lite 3, which will move the mobile devices version of the firm's Flash platform closer to what users are used to from desktop and notebook computers: According to Adobe, Flash Lite now supports Flash video and users now can browse websites with Flash integration as long as their handheld device has a browser supporting Flash Lite 3.

    Nokia and Japan's NTT DoCoMo were the first companies confirming to use Flash Lite 3 in upcoming products.

    According to Adobe's website, Verizon Wireless is currently the only U.S. carrier to offer cellphones with pre-installed Flash Lite software. A total of 12 handsets with Flash Lite (2.1) is currently available, including LG's Chocolate and Motorola's Motokrzr K1m, Razr V3c and V3m.
