Orange gets iPhone nod in France

  • Paris (France) - France has become the latest country to get word of an exclusive provider for the iPhone, after Apple struck a deal with local telecom name Orange.

Orange, which is owned by France Telecom, will be the only service provider to offer the iPhone, giving it the same strategy as Apple has used in other service agreements.  In the US, AT&T is the exclusive provider.  In the UK, it will be O2 and in Germany, T-Mobile.

The phone has not yet received an official French price or release date, but Orange plans for it to be available some time in November.
