HTC to launch more Qualcomm-based devices before end of 2007

  • High Tech Computer (HTC) will strengthen its cooperation with Qualcomm, and plans to launch more than 10 Qualcomm-based mobile devices, including smartphones and ultra-mobile PCs (UMPCs) before the end of this year, HTC CEO Peter Chou said at a press conference jointly held by HTC and Qualcomm. All of HTC's CDMA and WCDMA/HSPA devices are built with chip solutions coming from Qualcomm, said Chou, noting that HTC is one of the pioneers to use Qualcomm's MSM7500 and MSM7200 solutions to build its smartphones, including the Mogul, HTC 5800, HT6800 and TyTN II.
