Microsoft drops price on Zunes

  • Redmond (WA) – Microsoft has dropped the price on its Zune music players, saying that it has nothing to do with Apple’s recent announcements.  According to the company’s Zune Insider Blog, the 30 GB Zune will be $50 cheaper.  The player currently retails for about $250.

Microsoft employee Cesar Menendez says the price cut has been in the works for sometime adding, “It’s part of the normal product lifecycle, something we’ve had on the books for months.”

Customers have been very happy with the Zune, according to Microsoft.  Menedez says there is a 94% satisfaction rate with the 30 GB Zune.
