OCZ introduces 1800 MHz DDR3 modules

Sunnyvale (CA) – OCZ Technology has introduced one of the fastest DDR3 memory modules on the market.  It’s new PC3-14400 Platinum edition runs at 1800 MHz and promises to have “ample overclocking capability”, according to OCZ.

The new memory modules have an integrated mirrored heat spreader and run at 1.9 volts.  OCZ is using memory times of CL8-8-8 is still very high compared to DDR2 modules, but not bad when you compare it to other DDR3 memory.

Some readers may remember our story about Corsair hitting 2 GHz on their DDR3 memory back in June during the Computex trade show in Taipei.  Their engineers managed to get a system stable at 2 GHz memory speed after using memory timings of 10-10-10.

The OCZ PC3-14400 Platinum Edition will be sold in both single one GB sticks or double one GB sticks in a dual channel kit.
