MySpace launches instant messaging app

  • Santa Monica (CA) – The world’s most popular social networking site MySpace has officially launched a beta instant messaging application.  The program is called MySpaceIM and already has 17 million users since it was soft launched about a year ago.  MySpace members install the program directly to the computers and can then message other members, view profile pages and even play a friend’s profile song.

    Many of MySpace’s estimated 69 million members will probably like the one-click access to email and profile pages.  Users can also set alerts for when messages and comments appear on their profile pages.
