Skype-branded merchandise hits Wal-Mart

  • Bentonville (AR) - Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, is putting Skype products in 1800 stores.  Skype-certified devices like headsets and webcams will be sold alongside of Skype callingcards.  Wal-Mart becomes the first retail store to start selling Skype cards.

    The cards will be available in $20 and $8.80 denominations.  The lower-priced card will also include three months of unlimited US and Canada calling via the SkypeOut service.

    Skye offers free PC to PC calling and PC to landline or cellphones for a fee.  The service has nearly 200 million customers.
