AOL truncates passwords?

  • Alexandria (VA) - An eagle-eyed reader of Washington Post’s Security Fix blog says AOL passwords appear to be cut off at eight characters.  The reader accidentally typed in an extra character at the end of his password and still logged in successfully.  He also confirmed that multiple extra characters are ignored by the authentication system.
