AVG updates security suite for Vista compatibility

  • Millburn (NJ) - Computer security vendor Grisoft has updated its AVG Internet Security suite for Vista.  The company says version 7.5 will give Vista users a unified antivirus, anti-spyware and anti-spam defense.  The software will also have its own firewall.  AVG’s firewall will actually piggyback on top of the Vista integrated firewall by taking advantage of Windows Filtering Platform which is Microsoft’s new way of allowing 3rd party vendors to access the IP stack.

Grisoft is probably best known for its no-frills, but free AVG free edition anti-virus package that is currently being used by millions of people around the world.  AVG Internet Security 7.5 is currently available for $53 Dollars.
