AMD releases Catalyst 6.12 graphics chip driver
Sunnyvale (CA) - AMD's graphics division (formerly ATI) today released what will most likely be the last graphics driver update for this year. Catalyst 6.12 brings DirectX video acceleration for Crossfire configurations as it main update.
Fixes address the games Black&White 2 and Neverwinter Nights. The company also said that DVD playback via PowerDVD no longer results in the playback "appearing choppy."
AMD noted that this driver does not support the Folding@Home provided by Stanford. There was no detail provided, but the company said that "there are issues," which will be addressed in the next Catalyst release.
The driver can be downloaded from ati.amd.com.
