Microsoft Exchange 2007 released to manufacturing
Microsoft said that it has signed off the next version of the Exchange server software for mass production. Microsoft claims that it already has more than 120,000 mailboxes running on Exchange 2007, with partners estimated to be using about 55,000 at this time.
Exchange 2007 will bring a series of new features, including new administrative interfaces, a task-based command line shell, unified messaging, reduced traffic by using a minimal number of hops, among others. Microsoft also claims that the 64-bit Exchange 2007 will be providing more performance than the 32-bit predecessor.
