Cryptocard unveils new security service
London (England) - Authentication technology company Cryptocard has unveiled a new service in its security bundle that helps to prevent password theft.
Crypto-Mas is what Cryptocard calls a managed authentication service, which implements a dual-layered password protection infrastructure that Cryptocard says will prevent hacking into password-protected accounts on a network with sensitive information.
Crypto-Mas generates random one-time passwords through authentication tokens, which is further protected by a PIN number. Both are required for users to access the locked data.
"While many companies recognize the problems associated with static passwords, most lack the requisite skills, manpower, infrastructure or budget to implement a more secure two-factor authentication solution. That's why CRYPTOCard's Managed Authentication Service was developed," said Jason Hart, Cryptocard's CEO.
