Computer Associates (CA) has announced a new anti-malware suite for the Windows Vista operating system. The software protects against both spyware and virus attacks and has been in beta since June.
Major anti-virus companies like McAfee and Symantec have complained that Vista's "Patchguard" technology effectively locks third-party anti-malware software out of Vista. Microsoft recently compromised with the companies by promising to release a security API that will allow access to the kernel. No pricing for the new product was released.
