DirectTV to test VoIP offerings

DirectTV, a television satellite company, will start testing VoIP. The company is partnering up with Vistula Communications Services in a six month trial. The VoIP service is being offered as a bundle with satellite service, but DirectTV officials told that they don't plan on concentrating on more VoIP offerings.

Satellite, cable and other Internet companies are increasingly offering so called triple-play services which combine Internet, voice and television service under one bill.
