Sony Corporation's U.S. branch announced that it is launching an adapter which will allow its PS2 game player to connect to the Internet for online gaming against other PS2 owners. The PS2 will support both broadband/high speed connections and modem/low speed connections, while its direct competitor, Xbox, only supports broadband. The PS2 adapter will retail for $39.99US.
