LightSquared has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, after its plans for a national wholesale mobile network were scuppered over concerns about mobile interference.
The FCC is set to ban LightSquared from going ahead with its proposed national wireless broadband network, following a government report concluding that it would interfere with navigation gear.
LightSquared, currently seeking final FCC approval to build a nationwide 4G wireless wholesale network, is complaining that tests which appear to show its service interferes with GPS signals were rigged.
Government tests have shown that LightSquared's proposed mobile broadband network does indeed disrupt GPS devices in the area.
Skyhook is suing Google, claiming it's infringed patents and interfered with contracts it signed with Motorola and another company believed to be Samsung.
