Hunger Games Has a Huge Weekend, But Iron Man Still Reigns

Everybody knew The Hunger Games was going to be an enormous movie, that’s a given, and it indeed pulled in an enormous haul of $307 million world-wide. While it clearly beat the original’s opening weekend by a good $9 million domestically, it still hasn’t beaten the current record set by Iron Man 3.

Hunger Games Catching Fire Reviews Are In

No matter what the critics think about the next Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire, it’s going to be an enormous success no matter what. Still, we’re definitely curious if the next installment is any better or worse than the original, especially considering original screenwriter / director Gary Ross (Big, Seabiscuit) didn’t come back for another go round. (He was replaced by I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence.)

In 2017, Avatar Land will open at Disney, not to mention there may also be Star Wars rides coming to the Magic Kingdom as well. (This is pretty much be a given considering Lucas sold the franchise to Disney._ But would you be interested in taking your kids to a Hunger Games theme park?
