While we at TGD were very skeptical about Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but it proved a worthy reboot of the series to many fans, especially with Andy Serkis’s remarkable motion capture performance as Caesar. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes may not be out in theaters until July 11, but the third Apes movie has already gotten the greenlight, and Matt Reeves will return as director.
2013 was a hell of a year for genre movies, and 2015 will be the big year of Star Wars and Avengers 2. But how about next year? Well, turns out there’s a lot of great genre stuff coming up as well.
For us geeks, we not only anticipate movies with great fervor, but we also can’t wait for the trailers either. It’s great to finally see scenes from movies we can’t wait for, and there may be two great trailers playing before The Hobbit when it comes out next week.
We love Gary Oldman here on TG. He’s one of the best character actors there is, and in recent years, proven a great part of the Dark Knight ensemble as Commissioner Gordon.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes was one of the best films of 2011, and certainly the most memorable.
