Is this the world’s most powerful motorcycle?

Every once in awhile an electric vehicle comes along which just wows my socks off. Usually they are also the ones I’ll never be able to pay for on a writer’s salary. The latest of these is the recently unveiled Wattman super electric motorcycle from Franch brand Voxan.

The Wattman, according to Voxan, is the most powerful electric motorcycle in the world. It is also one of the most badass looking ones to date. Sporting 200 hp and a torque of 200 Nm up to 10,500 RPM, the motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 160 km/h (nearly 100 miles per hour) in a flat 5.9 seconds thanks to its belt drive motor.

Powering all of this is a rock solid 12.8 kWh lithium-ion battery that, on a fast charger, can be charged up to 80 percent capacity in less than half an hour. The bike can hit a top speed of 170 kph (105.6 MPH) and has a maximum range of up to 180 km (111.8 miles).

The body of the Wattman is described as, according to Voxan,

a new motorcycle architecture built around a motor-battery pack carrier set. The frame is replaced by an ultra-rigid exoskeleton, integrating all the components of the powertrain. This results in a very pure motorcycle without a visible technical feature.

As for price and availability, no mention was made of cost. Considering however each one is built to order and “hand-assembled” at a factory in France, you can bet it will set you back a lot more than the cost of your typical two-wheeled electric ride.
