Mission Motors is on a mission to build the "purest expression of electric performance."

Their latest electric motorcycle is the case in point: the Mission R "superbike" that will lead the company's 2011 racing program.

The Mission R features a liquid-cooled 3-phase AC Induction motor, which provides 115 ft-lbs of torque,14.4 kWh and 141 horsepower, pushing the bike to a top speed of over 160mph - all in what Mission describes as a smaller package than a modern 600cc sportbike.

The MissionEVT 100kW motor controller allows the owner to tune the bike to his or her preferences, courtesy of customizable regenerative braking maps and throttle maps.

The chassis features a new design by James Parker for integrating and balancing the weight and volume of the large EV battery pack, and comes wrapped in a new, aerodynamic industrial design by Tim Prentice of Motonium.

The bike debuted recently at the Long Beach International Motorcycle Show and will be competing in the TTXGP (the eGrand Prix racing series along with other races, events, and demonstrations.
