White House says there is no sign of alien life

The Obama administration has responded to a petition asking the White House to acknowledge the existence of an extraterrestrial presence on Earth.

"[We have] no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race," Phil Larson, who works on space policy and communications at the White House, wrote in an official blog post.

White House says there is no sign of alien life"In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public's eye. However, that doesn't mean the subject of life outside our planet isn't being discussed or explored."

Larson also noted that numerous scientists and mathematicians have looked with a statistical mindset at the question of whether life likely exists beyond Earth.

"[They] have come to the conclusion that the odds are pretty high that somewhere among the trillions and trillions of stars in the universe there is a planet other than ours that is home to life.

"[Still], that's all statistics and speculation. The fact is we have no credible evidence of extraterrestrial presence here on Earth," he added.

Of course, Larson’s response to the above-mentioned petition is unlikely to stifle a lively debate amongst conspiracy theorists and UFO enthusiasts about aliens visiting Earth.

To be sure, a number of mysterious or controversial incidents over the years remain unexplained, such as the Roswell incident, WWII Foo Fighters and the Kenneth Arnold sightings.

Multiple commissions were formed by the Pentagon to study the unexplained phenomena, including Project Grudge, Project Blue Book, Project Sign and the Condon Committee.

It should be noted that that a privately funded French COMETA panel endorsed an extraterrestrial hypothesis and accused the United States government of engaging in a massive cover-up over the years.
