Opera released a security update for its desktop browser. Version 9.61 eliminates a bug that could reveal the browsing history, the Fast Forward feature can no longer allow cross-site scripting and the news feed preview no longer shows the contents of unrelated news feeds.

There are also minor updates to the user interface (the image toggle button on the status bar is now a normal button without a menu, an issue that resulted in duplicate bookmarks is resolved), and two new command line options for the Windows version of the browser – newwindow and fullscreen.
