Here the chart shows daily fund drive revenues. On December 22, 2008, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales issued a personal plea for donations. Prior to his plea, the average daily donation total was $41,244.33. During the time banner ads appeared on Wikpedia pages, the daily average jumped to $183,913.69. Since Wales' thank you appeared, the daily average has been $21,203.17 (excluding January 9).
