FBI to interrogate Ryan Cleary over hack ops

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is reportedly preparing to interrogate suspected UK hacker Ryan Cleary over a spate of recent attacks targeting prominent corporations and government entities.

The 19-year-old Cleary was arrested on Monday and subsequently charged with five hacking related offenses against three websites, including Britain's Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca), the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and the British Phonographic Industry.

According to the Guardian, Cleary's arrest "was linked" to a series of cyber campaigns led by the enigmatic LulzSec, a group that successfully infiltrated websites administered by the CIA, US Senate and Sony.

Although Cleary has already been charged in the UK, British law enforcement officials have agreed to give the Bureau access to Cleary's confiscated computer equipment.

Unsurprisingly, the FBI is also expected to "attempt to conduct" its own questioning of the teenager. However, Ben Cooper, who is defending Cleary, described his client as a "vulnerable young man."

The 19-year-old is currently being detained at Charing Cross police station where he awaits further questioning.
