The online gaming world is reeling following a Tuesday filled with non-stop DDoS attacks against a number of industry heavyweights.

The digital campaign - executed by none other than Lulz Security - targeted The Escapist, Minecraft, League of Legends, Eve and an IT "security" company known as Finfisher.

"We just wiped out the login server for Eve Online, and it accidentally took their website out at the same time," the group tweeted on Tuesday.

"Silly Eve have taken their entire network offline after our very simple DDoS attack. Oh well, another day, another lulz...[We are] having fun laughing at gamers; props to the three 614-LULZSEC callers who requested Eve, Minecraft, League of Legends. Bwahahaha."

As expected, a number of royally pissed off gamers have expressed their outrage over the above-mentioned attacks.

But a Lulz Security rep was quick to point out that all of the targets were chosen based on requests by random "callers."

"[Still, there is] nothing like the great taste of raging gamers for lunch... We are the concentrated success of 2005 /b/, being 'hunted' by the 2011 furry horde. Challenge accepted, losers."
