Cameron Diaz is riskiest celebrity search

Cameron Diaz is now the most dangerous celebrity to search for on the web, with a ten percent chance of landing on a malicious site.

According to security company McAfee, movie stars and models top the 'most dangerous' list this year, while Barack Obama and Sarah Palin are among the safest.

"This year, the search results for celebrities are safer than they've been in previous years, but there are still dangers when searching online," said Dave Marcus, security researcher for McAfee Labs.

"Consumers are getting smarter about searching online, yet cybercriminals are getting sneakier in their techniques. Now they're hiding malicious content in 'tiny' places like shortened URLs that can spread virally in social networking sites and Twitter, instead of on websites and downloads."

Fans searching for Cameron Diaz and screen savers have a nearly one in five risk.

In second place is Julia Roberts, and third comes Jessica Biel, last year's most dangerous celebrity. They're followed by model Gisele Bundchen, Brad Pitt and Adriana Lima.

Tying for seventh place are Jennifer Love Hewitt and Nicole Kidman, with Tom Cruise next. Heidi Klum and Penelope Cruz share the number nine spot, with true Blood star Anna Paquin at number ten.

"Cybercriminals follow the same hot topics as consumers, and create traps based on the latest trends," said Marcus.

Justin Bieber, however, isn't at all dangerous, ranking number 46 in the list, and Barack Obama and Sarah Palin ranked 49 and 50 respectively. Does that mean they're both old hat?
