North Korea hacks US, South Korean secrets

  • Reports said that South Korea military authorities are investigating whether a hack attack was carried out by agents in North Korea.

The Chosun Ilbo newspaper said that a South Korean officer left a USB device containing military plans for a possible future conflict in Korea in a machine that was accessing the internet.

But it's claimed the USB stick only contained an 11 page briefing document rather than full tactical and strategic plans involving both the US and the South Korean military.

North Korean hackers are suspected of accessing the machine by using a Chinese IP address.
