In Mark Alexieff's demonstration of the new features of Microsoft Office 2007 last Friday at TechEd 2006 in Boston, we were delighted to see that attention was finally paid to PowerPoint, usually the forgotten child among the others in the suite. We saw the first significant changes to PowerPoint in about a decade. Here, a kind of instant graphic called a "cycle" is added to a slide with a series of five bullet points, in a two-click process. Once the cycle is added, a special pane along the left side lets you change the text inside nodes within the cycle, or even add nodes with new text.
