VoIP phone company Vonage today said that it has more than 1 Million lines in service. "In a very short time, Vonage has woken up a dormant telecommunications industry and sparked a tidal wave of change; activating over one million lines is both a milestone for Vonage and the industry," said Jeffrey Citron, chairman and CEO of Vonage, in a statement.
While Vonage remains the leading VoIP provider in the US, analysts expect the competition to heat up in the months to come: With more Internet Service Providers and traditional telcos rolling out their VoIP services, analysts expect VoIP services to be about to go mainstream. (THG)
