Gateway paints its notebooks red and blue
Irvine (CA) – Gateway has introduced two new notebook families, which are available not only in the traditional dark grey casing but also with red and blue color touches.
Gateway’s new notebooks follow on the heels of a bunch of colorful notebooks from Dell. The new M- and T-series multimedia notebooks can be ordered with a case that it is partially covered in “Crimson Red”, “Pacific Blue” or “Slate Grey.”
Both notebooks are based on Intel’s Santa Rosa Core 2 Duo processors and include a HDMI port, an integrated webcam, a DVD burner and draft-n wireless capability.
While the T-series offers a 14.1” screen, the M-series comes standard with a 15.4” display that can be upgraded to 1080p support, driven by an ATI HD 2400XT discrete graphics chip (which is offered as an option). The M-series can also be equipped with a Blu-ray or HD DVD drive.
Base prices for the notebooks start at $900 for and will be available starting July 22 through leading national retailers that carry Gateway products. The company will also be selling M- and T-series notebooks through its website “within a few weeks”, with prices starting at $1000.
