Bellevue (WA) - T-Mobile today released details about the Sidekick ID, the latest phone in T-Mobile's swivel-screen, Qwerty keyboard arsenal.
A staple of the Sidekick series, the ID has a swiveling screen that reveals a full Qwerty keyboard and one-button access to instant messaging, e-mail, and text messaging.
The ID has a proprietary HTML web browser, an ARM9 processor, and a trackball for more flexible on-screen navigation. It also has T-Mobile MyFaves right out of the box, which offers unlimited calling to five people in the US, regardless of their service provider.
The main new feature to the ID is the ability to change the side panels with interchangeable plates. Available colors will initially include black, yellow, blue, white, purple, and glow-in-the-dark.
The phone is set to debut on April 25 with an after-rebate, after-activation price of around $100.
