Sanyo intros rugged phone with advanced GPS
Chatsworth (CA) - Sanyo today announced its latest phone, the SCP-7050, which it says is its most rugged phone to date. It also incorporates GPS-based Java applications.
According to Sanyo, it is the company's first phone that meets military standards for dust, shock, and vibration resistance.
Additionally, the phone's focus on GPS technology allows support for nearly a dozen different mobile GPS applications, as well as the inclusion of built-in software. Also, even with the phone turned off, remote location tracking of the device will remain accessible.
Available exclusively through Sprint, the battery allows 4.4 hours of continuous talk time, a wireless backup feature, and connection capabilities to turn the phone into a USB modem.
