Motorola plans to launch its high-end Motosurf A3100 touch-screen handset as well as the low-cost W165 handset in the first quarter of this year, according to company and market sources. The launch of A3100 and W165 will also highlight the vendor's growing reliance on Taiwan-based ODM handset makers, as the company is outsourcing the production of A3100 to Compal Communications and the W165 to Foxlink (Cheng Uei Precision Industry), said the market sources.
