A fortnight ago Apple announced at its “Spotlight Turns to Notebooks” event that the MacBook Air would be getting an update. Several media reports suggest that the new Air models are now shipping. The notebooks received upgrades such as the Nvidia 9400M graphics system, options for 120 GB HDD and 128 GB SSD drives, the addition of a mini DisplayPort and a CPU bump.
The Macbook Air sells from $1800 with a 120 GB hard drive, 2 GB memory and a 1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo processor. An upgrade to a 128 GB SSD and a 1.86 GHz CPU is priced at $700.
