The netbook designation was always a bit tricky, and it's hard to tell where the "under $600" Dell Inspiron Mini 12 fits in. As the name suggests, it has a 12.1" WXGA (1280 x 800) screen, where netbooks normally stop at 10.2 inches. However, like smaller netbooks, it has a cheap Intel Atom processor -- which is fine, but not the sort of thing you'd want in a workhorse notebook PC.
