Acer’s Android (TA272) AIO is also a tablet

Acer has debuted a new Android-based all-in-one (AIO) desktop with a 27-inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel touchscreen display.

The TA272 AIO, which can also be used as an extremely large tablet, is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra quad-core SoC and features 16GB of built-in storage, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Ethernet, 10-point multitouch input, HDMI/DisplayPort front-facing stereo speakers, a 2MP webcam and Android Jelly Bean (4.2).

As Liliputing’s Brad Linder notes, users can also connect a keyboard, mouse and other peripherals via a handy 3.0 port.

“Overall this looks like one of the most impressive Android all-in-one PCs announced to date… but there’s a catch. Like most large displays with resolutions higher than 1080p, the Acer TA272 isn’t exactly cheap, [with] a suggested retail price of $1099.

“The good news is that’s only $100 more than the price of Acer’s T272HUL monitor… [So] you could spend a little more and pick up this model and use it to run Android apps when you’re not busy using the device as a traditional PC monitor.”
