Dell has introduced its first Chromebook, a web-centric laptop targeted at the education market. The Dell Chromebook 11 features an 11.6-inch display (1366 x 768 pixel), along with an Intel Haswell Celeron 2955U processor.
Additional key specs include 16GB of solid state storage, up to 4GB of RAM, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI port.
The laptop weighs a scant 2.9 pounds, with Dell promising up to 10 hours of battery life. Pricing? $300 base and a launch date of January 2014 in the US and UK.
As Liliputing's Brad Linder notes, the laptop bears more than a fair resemblance to Dell's recently introduced Inspiron 11 3000 Series notebook.
"That model has an additional USB port, a touchscreen, and Windows software, but it’s pretty clear the Chromebook 11 is cut from the same design cloth," said Linder.
