Samsung's Galaxy S III hits 30 million units
Samsung confirms that sales of its flagship Galaxy SIII smartphone have hit 30 million units in just 150 days.
"The Galaxy S III continues to be a runaway favorite with customers around the world," said Samsung exec JK Shin.
"Meeting this sales milestone in five months sets another record for Samsung, and we are extremely proud and yet motivated to continue to provide our customers with products that they love."
As you may recall, Samsung's Galaxy S III actually managed to surpass sales of Apple's iconic iPhone back in August.
"We believe this is the first month since the iPhone 4S launched in October 2011 that it was not the top-selling smartphone in the U.S. market," Canaccord Genuity analyst T. Michael Walkley said just a few months ago.
Samsung's Galaxy SIII is a slick handset loaded with some truly sweet and stellar specs - and has been known to make even the most diehard Apple iPhone fanboi slightly envious.
The device is powered by Android Ice Cream Sandwich (with a Jelly Bean upgrade on the way), and boasts a sleek 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display (1280 x 720 pixels), an 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera and Wi-Fi Channel Bonding (doubles Wi-Fi bandwidth).
