Android 4.2 is a new flavor of Jelly Bean

Google has described Android 4.2 as a “new flavor” of Jelly Bean that will power Mountain View’s recently announced lineup of Nexus 10 tablets and Nexus 4 smartphone.

“We put Android under a microscope, making everything feel fast, fluid, and smooth. With buttery graphics and silky transitions, moving between home screens and switching between apps is effortless, like turning pages in a book,” a Google rep explained.

“More reactive and uniform touch responses mean you can almost feel the pixels beneath as your finger moves across the screen. Jelly Bean makes your Android device even more responsive by boosting your device’s CPU instantly when you touch the screen, and turns it down when you don’t need it to improve battery life.”

New 4.2 features include support for streaming content to a TV or display with a wireless HDMI adapter, a keyboard that supports gesture-based text input, improved text prediction and support for multiple users on the same device with separate accounts.

Additional features? Photo Sphere, which allows users to snap photos and create panoramas by moving the camera in different directions; expandable, actionable notification and easy personalization of the home screen.

And last, but certainly not least, Daydream allows your Android device to  display data and images – even when idle or docked.
